You can’t vote if you’re not registered. In most states you can register online, as well as, check your status, and update your information. Voter registration deadlines vary by state and territory. States and territories where online registration is not available are denoted on this list with an * next to their names. Forms for mail-in registration are available on all state websites, with a few, exception. North Dakota has no registration, but requires an state-issued ID, such a North Dakota drivers license. All U.S. territories, except Puerto Rico, require in-person registration.

"Can I register outside of the country or if I'm living out of state?"



"Yes, for people aboard or serving in the military there is out of state registration and out of state voting. Even if you're traveling out of state for the election, you can cast an absentee ballot which allows you to vote before election day. You can also cast an absentee ballot if you can.not physically make it to vote."
